"Education development fund, cabinet ministers" visits the Finnish "HAMK" University to discuss ways of cooperation with Misr International Technological University


A delegation from the Education Development Fund headed by Dr. Ahmed Elhewy , Secretary-General of the EDF, visited the Finnish University of Applied Sciences, HAMK, in continuation of the EDF's role in applying modern methods in education systems, especially technological education.

Dr. Ahmed Elhewy, confirmed that the visit aims to identify the latest developments in designing programs based on competencies and training cadres, to prepare and design these programs and measure their outputs, as well as linking the industry to the university and motivating graduates and students to start their projects and establishing the concept of entrepreneurship.

He added that the Egyptian delegation met during the visit with Dr Lassi Martikainen, Dean, School of Entrepreneurship, Business and Technology, Dr
Jari Mustajärvi, Head of Degree and Coordinator of the Information Technology and Robotics Program, Dr. Maaret Viskari ,Director of International Relations at HAMK International University, and Elena Saltinlinini, Director of the Education Development Project at the University.

Elhewy explained that the Finnish side reviewed during the meeting an overview of
Collaboration models with the industry ,Faculty competence development & Curriculum development in HAMK
as well as how to develop programs ,implement competence-based education approach ,the application of entrepreneurship and example on how education and applied research are integrated.

The Egyptian delegation, which included Dr. Mohamed Badawy, Acting Dean of Cairo Faculty of Technology, MITU, and Dr. Omaima Nabil Abdel-Qader, Assistant Secretary-General EDF, visited the university's laboratories and workshops, which are equipped with the latest international standards, and all the facilities available at the university's location in the city of Hämeenlinna and the city of Riihimäki .

The visit ended with a future cooperation project with HAMK University and Misr International Technological University (MITU), one of the Education Development Fund projects, in terms of project objectives, targeted outputs, beneficiary groups, time frame, initial project cost, and funding agencies.
